Programs

Workshops & Culturally Appropriate Parenting Support One – on – One (CAPS)

Both programs are delivered through our Cultural Bridging Facilitators, Whanau Support Workers and Youth Mentors to Whānaus from CALD (Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Community). The Whanau communicate in their own language and with staff from their own culture, someone they feel easy to communicate with, be open and honest with, not afraid of being judged by and do not feel they have to explain their feelings and mindsets, values and beliefs. This program offers workshops and one-on-one support. It is designed to help families and whanau moving to New Zealand understand the challenges, barriers, emotional, mental, psychological, and social changes they and their children go through during their resettlement journey, New Zealand education, legal and health systems and many other relevant topics as well as providing on-going support.
